Video Inspo: Buddy The Elf Visits Asda
This 90-second spot is being named the most effective festive ad of this year so far, and the first time Buddy the Elf has been used in advertising by any brand.
Here, Asda used the power of visual effects (VFX) to transport Will Ferrell's beloved character out of his iconic scenes from Elf (2003) and reinsert him into an Asda supermarket.
The quintessentially joyful Christmas campaign will also see Buddy make announcements in the supermarkets and launch an exclusive Elf-themed food and clothing range.
According to System1’s Test Your Ad platform, which uses the emotional response of real people to award ads a star rating between one and five, it's currently achieving the highest five-star score of any Christmas ad launched so far this year! Can anyone else beat them?
